In this article I’m going to show you different ways to track your Bible reading; all of them are simple and manageable.
I’ll show you how to make your own free Bible reading tracker and where to get our favorite Bible reading pdf tracker!
Some of the Bible tracking methods we’ll cover:
- Printable Bible reading trackers
- Bible reading logs
- Bullet journal Bible reading tracker
- Online Bible reading trackers
Getting Started with Printable Bible Reading Trackers
Most Bible reading trackers come in the form of a bookmark or Bible reading pdf. Most decent online Bible reading apps require you to join a membership, or make an account of some sort or download a Bible Tracker App.
The first step of getting started with Bible reading trackers is to choose a format (digital, printable, or physical – like this journal).
Once you know that you can decide whether you want to track your Bible reading by book or by chapter.
I’ve loved sharing these printable reading trackers because they’re simple to use and can work with all kinds of study methods. I can use them to study the Bible by book and by chapter. I can deviate from my reading plan and still keep my thoughts and study organized. And when I’m reading to dive back in, I know exactly where I left off. That and the fact that I can print and reuse these sheets whenever I want makes them my top choice for Bible study trackers.
How to use a Bible Reading Log
Bible reading logs are perfect for when you want to study the Bible freely, without being tied to a Bible reading plan.
You can see an example of a Bible reading log in the picture above. All you need to set up your own Bible reading tracker is a two-column sheet of paper.
Write the date in the first column and record what you’ve read in the second column. You can take it a step further and use the space in the second column to summarize what you’ve read.

Using A Bullet Journal To Track Your Reading
Another simple DIY way to track your reading is to create a Bible reading tracker bullet journal.
Start with a simple piece of paper (or you could use a composition notebook).
Write the name of the book of the Bible you’re studying at the top of the paper.
Count the number of chapters in that specific book.
Write each number down under the book of the Bible. If you prefer to use shapes or designs you can draw one circle, square, tally mark, or x for each chapter of the book you’re reading.

At this point, you’re ready to begin reading! Pick a chapter and dive in. Cross off each chapter that you finish in your Bible reading tracker.

Online Bible Reading Trackers
One pro of having online Bible Reading trackers is that you can usually back them up so you don’t lose your progress. Many of them connect with social sites like Facebook and Instagram creating a type of accountability that can be really fun and encouraging.
Here is a couple of online Bible Reading Trackers you can try.
Is there an app that reads the Bible?
Are you looking for a good Bible reading app?
I’ve been using the You Version App for years. I love it because their audio is available in a variety of Bible translations.
The Dwell Audio Bible app also reads the Bible out loud! What’s cool about Dwell is that you can pick the voices that narrate the Bible for you and the various translations. Check Dwell it out here.
At the time of writing this the Blue Letter Bible App is the number 1 Bible reading app on Google rankings. You Version is number one in the Android app store.
Bible Reading Tracker App
If you’re looking for a mobile app that can track your Bible reading here are some suggestions for a Bible Reading plan app:
- Daily Reading Assistant helps you track your Bible reading chapter by chapter. They provide reading plans but you can also create your own reading plan and study at your own pace.
- My Bible Tracker allows you to keep track of your Bible reading with similar flexibility. “Track your Bible reading progress by marking chapters read in the Bible.” Based on what you’ve marked, My Bible Tracker will calculate how much of the Bible you have left and what books are you still need to study through.
- Bible Reading Chart is like a digital form of a bullet journal reading tracker. Simply read and fill in the bullet for the chapters you finish.
- Bible Reader Tracker works in a similar fashion, giving you a birds-eye view of what you’ve read and what you’ll need to read to finish the entire Bible.
There’s definitely a convenience that comes with using Bible Tracker apps. If you’re like me though, you love to have a reading plan that you can keep in your hand or carry in your Bible that will work even when your phone is dead and the power is app.
